When is the Lifetime ISA government bonus paid?
The Lifetime ISA government bonus is 25% of whatever you pay in, and can be a maximum of £1,000 a year. You should receive your Lifetime ISA bonus between four to eight weeks after you pay money into your Lifetime ISA - but it could take up to ten weeks, depending on the date you pay in. The bonus is paid directly into your Lifetime ISA.
Here's how it works. On the 6th of every month, we'll claim a bonus on all the money you've paid into your Lifetime ISA during the previous month. You'll then receive the bonus four weeks after that.
So if you fund your Lifetime ISA on 5 May, you'll receive your bonus just over four weeks later. On the other hand, if you fund your account on 7 May, you'll receive your bonus four weeks after the 6 June, i.e. around eight weeks later.
The Lifetime ISA bonus is paid as cash directly into your Lifetime ISA, so you’re able to invest it straight away. If you’re not sure where to invest, our investment ideas can help.
