How do I start to access my SIPP?
You'll need to log in to your account online and select 'Access my pension' from the 'My account' menu. This page contains all the information you need to access your pension.
If you request a lump sum payment, we’ll calculate the amount and pay it to you 5-10 working days after we've received all the information we need from you. This includes a completed benefit form, evidence of age and successfully verified bank details. You also need to make sure you have enough cash for the lump sum payment – otherwise it could be delayed.
When you set up a drawdown pot with us, we’ll offer you Investment Pathways. These can help you invest your pot in a fund designed to broadly match your retirement plans. Choosing an Investment Pathway is completely optional. Find out more about Investment Pathways.
If you request a regular income, we’ll set it up and let you know as soon as it’s ready. Regular income payments go out on a fixed date, which is the 10th of the month – or the next working day, if the 10th falls on a weekend. Either way, payments should reach your account within 3 working days.
You now have greater flexibility than ever before when deciding how to take your pension. As we don’t give advice, before you decide which option is right for you, we recommend that you consider taking advice from an FCA regulated financial adviser. Alternatively, free impartial guidance on your options is available from the Government backed Pension Wise service.
You can access the Pension Wise service online at www.pensionwise.gov.uk, book a telephone appointment by calling 0800 280 8880 or arrange a face to face meeting through your local Citizens Advice Bureau. This is not a substitute for full, regulated financial advice.
