Private equity and infrastructure investor 3i Group reported a rise in fiscal first-quarter net assets, led by good growth in its private equity portfolio.

For the three months to 30 June, net asset value per share rose to 864p from 815p seen in the previous quarter and total return of 6.2%.

During the period, the company purchased three additional LP stakes in EFV, with 3i's investment totalling £61 million. These purchases increased 3i's holding in Action to 45.3%, up from 44.3% in 31 March.

The Infrastructure business had another busy quarter. 3iN completed its investment in Joulz in April 2019 and in July agreed to invest c.€220m in Ionisos, the company said.
