Ireland trade surplus falls in February as exports fall, imports rise

Ireland’s trade surplus declined in February, numbers on Tuesday showed.

According to the Central Statistics Office, exports fell 3.0% to €17.59 billion in February from €18.06 billion in January. Imports rose 7.0%, meanwhile, to €10.39 billion from €9.68 billion.

It means the nation’s trade surplus weakened by 14% on-month to €7.20 billion from €8.38 billion.
