SDX Energy commences gas, condensate production at South Disouq asset in Egypt

SDX Energy said production had commenced from its operated South Disouq concession in Egypt.

The company currently had a 55% working interest in the asset.

Gas had been flowing through the South Disouq central processing facility since 7 November.

Each of four discovery wells had been hooked up to the facility and had produced at their expected rates of between 8m standard cubic feet per day and 15 MMscf/d.

Over the last three days, the facility had has been operating as expected, achieving an average gross production rate of 23 MMscf/d of gas and 120 barrels per day of condensate, equivalent to approximately 24 MMscfe/d.

'These initial flow rates are in line with the company's expectations and testing will continue over the coming weeks," SDX Energy said.

Production was expected to gradually ramp up to a targeted plateau gross rate of 50 MMscfe/d during the first quarter of 2020.
