Insurance group Prudential said it expected to hold a shareholder meeting next month on the proposed demerger of its M&G wealth management business.

The company said its prospectus for the separation had been approved Wednesday by the Financial Conduct Authority.

A general meeting would be held in London on 15 October to vote on the deal.

The demerger was then expected to be completed, and the M&G admitted for trading on the London Stock Exchange, by no later than 21 October.
