Serabi Gold said independent consultants Global Resource Engineering had requested more time to complete work assessing the economic case for the company's Coringa gold project in Brazil.

The request came after Serabi Gold's decision to switch to a dry stacking solution and dispense with a conventional tailings dam, which had impacted on process flow-sheet design.

The consultants had undertaken to Serabi that the results would be available before the end of August, and that the would make every effort to deliver them earlier.

'Whilst we had planned for to be able to issue the results of the preliminary economic assessment during this week, we expect the delay in completion will be limited, and look forward to the publication of the PEA results later this month,' chief executive Mike Hodgson said.
