Alliance Pharma PLC said on Wednesday Chair David Cook is to step down next year in line with ‘good corporate governance’.

The Chippenham, England-based distributor of consumer healthcare brands and prescription medicines said Cook will leave after the annual general meeting in May 2023, after serving on the board for nine years.

Non-Executive Director Jo LeCouilliard, who joined the company in January 2019, will become its next chair.

Cook commented: ‘Alliance has developed significantly over the time I have been with the business, building an international footprint and transitioning to focus on consumer healthcare brands. Jo has been an invaluable board member over the past three and a half years and we are delighted that she has agreed to chair the board as the company continues on its growth trajectory.

Alliance Pharma shares were down 3.7% at 109.60 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London.
