Investment Objective

The fund seeks to provide a monthly income rising over time together with capital growth. The fund invests predominantly in a combination of UK equities and fixed income securities. The ACD may also invest at its discretion in other transferable securities, money market instruments, deposits, cash and near cash and collective investment schemes. Subject to obtaining and maintaining the requisite permissions from the FCA under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 on giving 60 days' notice to Shareholders, the Fund may, in addition to its other investment powers, use exchange traded and over the counter derivatives and forward currency contracts for investment purposes. Using these investment powers for investment purposes means, in particular, maintaining positions in these investments for the long term rather than just for tactical short-term purposes.
