Poundland launches rival product to Toblerone

2,500 Is the number of products which have fallen prey to so-called shrinkflation and reduced in size since 2012, according to data from the Office for National Statistics. One of those is Mondelez’s Toblerone which came under fire last year as it underwent a dramatic shape change to reduce the number of triangles on a bar.

This week Poundland, which is planning to launch a rival Twin Peaks bar, claimed that Toblerone is no longer distinctive enough to be a valid trademark as it defended its right to sell a treat to compete.
