Computing products manufacturer Solid State booked a rise in first-half profit, driven by a rise in organic manufacturing revenue and contribution from the acquisition of Pacer Technologies.

Pre-tax profit for the six months through September increased to £2.3m, up from £1.3m on-year.

Revenue rose 43% to £33.6m, or by 11% on a pro-forma basis, which adjusted for the effect of acquisitions and non-recurring items.

Solid State declared an interim dividend of 5.25p per share, up 25% on-year.

'I am very pleased to present a strong set of results which will be my last as chairman of Solid State,' chairman Tony Frere said.

'In the five years of leading the board we have worked very hard to build a resilient business with key points of difference in its industry.'

'These record results vindicate our strategy and ensure a strong platform for future growth.'
