Telit Communications completes tests on 5G data card

Internet of Things company Telit Communications said it had successfully completed a series of tests on a new industrial-grade 5G data card.

The tests were conducted on a live 5G network in Korea and the company said they highlighted its ability to provide businesses and other organisations with 5G solutions for industrial routers and gateways, fixed wireless access, video broadcasting and other applications.

The tests were conducted on a top-tier operator's live 5G network in Korea at sub-6 GHz frequencies. A second set of successful tests were conducted in millimetre wave spectrum using test equipment.

Following the completion of testing commercial shipments to customers were expected to commence in in the first quarter of 2020.
