Media production company Entertainment One reported wider first-quarter losses owing to weakness at its film, television and music division.

Pre-tax losses widened to £43.9m in the three months through September from £6.8m a year earlier, as revenue fell 7% to £173.1m.

The fall in revenue was blamed on lower broadcast and licensing sales, due to fewer scripted deliveries in the quarter.

The hit was was partly offset by higher music revenue through the acquisition of Audio Network and continuing organic growth, while family and brands revenue was 'broadly stable', the company said.
