Advanced materials group Versarien said it had signed a collaboration agreement with Spanish industrial furnace manufacturer Refractory Solutions Insertec.

The two companies would work on a project to incorporate Versarien's technology into certain of Insertec's refractory materials, with a view to enhancing their performance in molten metal applications.

Versarien's Hexotene technology was a few-layer hexagonal boron nitride nanoplatelet powder, also known as 'white graphene'.

'This is our first collaboration utilising Hexotene in a high temperature industrial application and we look forward to working with the Insertec team,' chief executive Neill Ricketts said.
