BlueRock Diamonds said it had sold a diamond from its Kareevlei mine in South Africa for $103k.

The 10.6 carat gem was sold in the September tender and was the sixth diamond sold by the company this year for more than $50k, realising a total sale price of $600k for the six stones.

'I am pleased with the recovery and sale of yet another high value diamond which continues to underpin the increasing potential of the Kareevlei mine,' executive chairman Mike Houston said.

'I look forward to updating our shareholders in the 2019 third quarter update'.
