Sports apparel and equipment retailer Sports Direct said that Grant Thornton had decided not to seek reappointment as the company's auditor.
Sports Direct said that Grant Thornton had made the decision subsequent to the publication of Sports Direct's annual report and accounts on Tuesday and following 'a review of its client portfolio'.
Grant Thornton would cease to hold office as auditors of the company with effect from 11 September, being the date of its annual general meeting. Sports Direct said a further announcement would be made in due course.
