Component and systems contractor Meggitt said it had secured a contract from General Dynamics Land Systems to develop an advanced cooling system for next generation ground combat platforms.

The systems would add to other Meggitt products purchased by GDLS and support a recent award from the US government.

The award involve the government procuring over 2,100 of the cooling systems valued at over $250m.

'The new cooling system builds on Meggitt's pedigree in thermal management, including other electrically driven cooling systems that are being implemented on more electric military aircraft platforms and ground vehicles,' the company said.
