Savannah Resources said the mineral resource estimate at its Mina do Barroso lithium prospect in Portugal had increased by around 15%.

The overall mineral resource estimate at the project now stood at 27m tonnes of lithium oxide, or 285,900 tonnes of contained lithium oxide.

The exploration target for Mina do Barroso was now calculated at 11m-to-19m tonnes at 1.0-to-1.2% lithium oxide, giving a potential project mineral inventory range of 38m-to-47m tonnes.

'We continue to be encouraged by our extensive resource drilling programme which is increasing the mine life of the rroject, in addition to providing an inventory of higher-grade material,' chief executive David Archer said.
