Altus Strategies, an Africa focused exploration project generator, detailed a series of drill targets to test the potential of expanding its Tabakorole gold project in southern Mali.
Historical drilling intersections at the prospect indicated a number of areas where high grade were discovered but not followed up with infill drilling by previous operators. 'We believe these targets offer significant upside potential within and proximal to the current historical resource area,' the company said.
The company also outlined new prospects at the 'FT South' prospect within the licence.
Six hundred metres to the south of and parallel to the FT prospect, a new prospect which was approximately 2.5 km long had been defined from historical airborne magnetic data, the company said.
The next phase of work at Tabakorole was expected to include pitting and auger drilling across the new targets, as well as further resource definition drilling.
The Tabakorole project historical mineral resource comprised of 240,000 ounces of gold in the indicated category and 350,000 ounces of gold in the inferred category.
