Brazil-focused Serabi Gold said it had made a good start to 2019, putting it on track to meet its annual output guidance.
Production in the month of January amounted to 3,671 ounces, in line with annual guidance of 40,000-to-44,000.
'We are delighted to have started the year in much the same way as 2018 ended, with excellent production,' chief executive Mike Hodgson said.
Affirmation of the guidance came despite the company on Tuesday announcing that a company employee had died on Monday from a mining-related accident at its Palito gold mine in Brazil.
Production in the area of the incident had been suspended until an outcome of the enquiries had been reached.
