UK economy grew by lower-than-expected 0.2% in fourth quarter

UK gross domestic product rose 0.2% in the fourth quarter, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The reading was below market expectations of 0.3% growth.

For the month of December, GDP fell by 0.4%, a deeper decline that the flat performance expected by the market.
