Scottish American Investment Company increased its annual dividend after it boosted its investment income.
The company declared an a full-year dividend of 11.5p per share, up 3.6% on-year.
In the year through December its net asset value total return was negative 2.4%, head of the total return from global equities of negative 3.4%.
Investment income rose to £21.7m, up from £20.5m on-year, while and earnings per share improved to 11.75p, up from 11.33p.
'In the current environment the managers are continuing to focus on the resilience and dependability of the company's holdings, as well as their long-term growth potential,' the company said.
'The board considers that a long-term approach based on investing for sustainable growth is the best route to continuing to grow its dividend ahead of inflation and its capital over time.'
