Serco Group said it had won a A$1.01bn (£560m) contract Bupa Health Services to provide services to Australia's defence forces.

Finalisation of the contract came after Serco announced an initial agreement last month regarding talks to provide the services.

The contract had a six-year duration plus up to four one-year extensions.

Serco would be responsible for providing essential defence support services across more than 50 bases in Australia, including recruitment, on-boarding, training, workforce management and various other employee lifecycle, account management and support functions.
