Specialist engineer TP Group said it had won an order worth £0.8m to supply carbon dioxide removal equipment for a new-build submarine.

The order from an 'overseas shipbuilder' would see TP built the equipment at its engineering facility in Portsmouth and deliver it during 2019.

'This order is a recognition of the close working relationships that our technology and engineering team has established with several global prime contractors,' chief executive Phil Cartmell said.

'We strive to be a trusted partner that can supply safe, reliable and technically advanced equipment to a global audience, and through orders like this we can continue to build our position in overseas markets.'
