Luxury furniture group Walker Greenbank said it had appointed Dianne Thompson as its new chairman, while its search for a new chief executive was 'progressing well'.

Thompson previously served as CEO of lottery provider Camelot Group and was currently a director of fashion retailer Next.

She would joint the board on 1 February, initially as a non-executive director and would become chairman once a new CEO was appointed.

'Dianne is a highly experienced executive and non-executive director and, as chairman, will bring a strong marketing and operational focus to the board,' interim chairman Christopher Rogers said.
