BigDish said it had launched an app in Bournemouth that promises to boost restaurant revenue by allowing businesses to offer discounts at certain times of day.

The company said over 50 of the city's restaurants would now offer a 50% discount on food from Sunday to Thursday, at least twice per day, with the number of users expected to increase.

The app would also be made available in Bristol by the end of January.

BigDish has also been through a beta period in Bath, with a limited number of restaurants that the company would now seek to increase.

'This year looks set to bring much progress for BigDish, with continued work in our first two UK territories, the larger UK roll out and our technology plans for 2019,' chief executive Joost Boer said.

'As such, we look forward to updating the market with further developments.'
