BigDish said Monday it had launched its new merchant App for restaurants and confirmed the appointment of Sanj Naha to help carry out the companys UK strategy.
Naha had over 25 years experience in hospitality and over ten years' experience in hospitality technology, BigDish said.
Naha had previously worked for The Fork, a restaurant booking platform that was acquired by TripAdvisor in 2014 for a reported USD 140m. As Head of B2B Marketing and Sales Enablement, Sanj helped The Fork grow from three to twelve countries and increased the client base using its online reservation software from 11,000 to over 36,000 restaurants in under two years.
The company had released a native Android and iOS Merchant App which would allow restaurants to modify any deal on any given day in real time.
BigDish currently enabled UK restaurants to fill capacity in the 'last minute' market and consumers can make bookings up to 48 hours in advance only.
'The launch of the Merchant App for restaurants will be a key component of the BigDish platform as it will allow restaurants to modify their deals at any given time. We plan to continue to develop the app and add more sophistication and features progressively with a view to creating a market leading proposition for restaurants and consumers alike,' said Joost Boer, BigDish CEO.
