Afritin Mining says plant civil construction works underway

Afritin Mining said Monday the plant civil construction works at the Uis mine had begun and is expected to be completed during the third quarter of the year.

Following a comprehensive tender process, the company said it had appointed civil works contractor Ino Invest, who would be responsible for the construction of the civil works required at the Uis mine.

Phase 1 was designed to process 500,000 tonnes per annum, the company said.

'I am very pleased to announce this appointment, signalling the beginning of mine construction, in what is another positive step in ensuring that planned production remains on track for commencement H2 2018,' said, CEO Anthony Viljoen.
