Serica reports progress on unblocking of Lomond-to-Everest condensate pipeline

Serica Energy said some progress had been made unblocking the Lomond-to-Everest condensate pipeline for the Erskine field in the North Sea.

Following deployment of specialist pumping equipment, some communication across the blockage had been achieved, the company said.

The plan was to continue with pressure-pulsing until there was a significant breakthrough.

In parallel, a permanent solution to a pipeline wax problem was also being advanced.

At the Bruce, Keith and Rhum fields, also in the North Sea, production had averaged around 16,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, net to BP, since a re-start in January.

Serica agreed to acquire BP's interests in the fields with an effective date of 1 January.

Subject to completion of the transaction, which was anticipated in the third quarter of 2018, Serica would receive 40% of the net cash flow for the fields in 2018, rising on a stepped basis to 100% in 2022.
