London markets set to ease ahead of the Christmas break

The FTSE 100 is expected to give back some of yesterday's solid gains on a shortened trading day ahead of the Christmas break.

OVERSEAS MARKETS

In the US overnight, the Dow closed 0.23% higher at 24,782.29, the S&P 500 added 0.2% to end at 2,684.57 and the Nasdaq climbed 0.06% to reach 6,965.36.

In Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 was recently up 0.09% at 22,887.36 and the Hang Seng was 0.38% higher at 29,478.09.

COMMODITIES

WTI crude was 0.29% lower at $58.19 per barrel and Brent was down 0.22% at $64.76 per barrel.

Gold was 0.03% weaker at $1,270.2 an ounce, silver was down 0.12% and copper was 0.65% lower.

LONDON MARKETS

Shareholder meetings are to be hosted by BOS Global, KCR Residential Reit, Mobile Streams, Progility, Red Rock Resources and Peoples Operator.
