London stocks to open after FTSE 100's 3-session surge

London equities are poised to open with investors mulling whether the FTSE 100 will continue its record run higher.

UK construction PMI, M4 Money Supply and Mortgage approvals are among the data sets in focus this side of the channel, while in Europe it is services PMI and euro-zone inflation.


On Wall St overnight, the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 0.6% to 19,881.76, the S&P 500 firmed 0.85% to 2257.83 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 0.85% to 5429.09.

Asia this morning, the Nikkei 225 had risen 2.51% to 19,594.16, while the Hang Seng lost 2.03% to 22,105.65.

At 6.28am, WTI crude was up 0.75% to $52.72/bbl and Brent was up 0.7% to $55.86/bbl. Gold was up 0.06% to $1162.70/oz, with copper and silver also up.


Interim results are due from Accrol Group, while Next and Topps Tiles are due to issue trading statements.
