Brand Architekts Group PLC on Thursday named Simon Pyper as an independent non-executive director, following its merger with InnovaDerma PLC in May.

Shares in the London-based beauty brands business were down 5.8% to 55.11 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.

Back in May, Brand Architekts merged with InnovaDerma, forming Brand Architekts Group. Until the recent merger, Pyper served as non-executive director of InnovaDerma, joining the company in December 2020.

Pyper is currently chief executive of assurance business CPP Group PLC, where he has held the post since February of this year.

Between 2007 and 2017, Pyper was CFO of AIM listed GlobalData PLC. During his tenure, Pyper oversaw its reverse takeover of TMN PLC and its admission to AIM, Brand Architekts said.

Brand Architekts added that it expects Pyper to take the role of chair of the Audit Committee, following Edward Beale's retirement in September.

Chair Roger McDowell said: ‘We are delighted to welcome Simon to the board of Brand Architekts. Simon has first-hand knowledge of InnovaDerma, which will prove to be invaluable in ensuring a smooth integration of the business.

‘He brings financial governance expertise, extensive experience from the retail sector, broad development and implementation of M&A strategies and an excellent track record in delivering revenue and earnings growth. We look forward to his guidance over the coming years as the Group continues to execute on its growth strategy,’ McDowell added.
