Genel Energy PLC on Friday said that interim Chief Financial Officer Luke Clement has been appointed to the role on a permanent basis.

Clement was previously Genel's interim CFO. He joined the company in 2011 to advise on the merger of Vallares PLC and Genel Enerji and in 2015 Clement became group financial controller.

Chair David McManus said: “Luke is the ideal person to continue delivering the financial platform that facilitates our strategy, a strategy he has been integral in building, as we seek to utilise our growing financial strength to add production and further bolster our progressive dividend.”

Genel Energy was trading 4.8% higher in London on Friday midday at 176.20 pence.
