Schroder British Opportunities Trust PLC on Wednesday said it has made an investment in CFC Underwriting.

London-headquartered CFC is a technology-driven insurance firm, serving more than 10,000 businesses in over 90 countries.

Tim Creed, head of private equity at Schroders, commented on the investment: ‘CFC's focus on supporting its customers in emerging risk areas, while pioneering technology to enable it to deliver at increasing scale, has underpinned an envious track record of growth and profitability that places it in the upper echelons of insurance companies globally.’

The size of the investment was undisclosed.

This latest investment follows on from Schroder British's investment in Mintec announced on Tuesday.

The company said that one further private equity investment is anticipated.

Schroder British said the investments are in line with its ‘focus on backing high-quality, high growth businesses, with opportunities for significant further expansion and a strong alignment between shareholder value and fundamental positive purpose in society.’

Schroder British was untraded at 86.0 pence in London on Wednesday.
