Air Liquide SA - Paris-based industrial gas supplier - Signs 10-year contract with Shell Energy Europe Ltd to purchase 52 gigawatt-hours per year of solar photovoltaic renewable energy in Italy. Agreement will allow Air Liquide to cover a large portion of the electricity used for industrial purposes in the north east of the country. It will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 24,000 tonnes a year, the firm says.

‘With this new contract, Air Liquide takes another step towards the energy transition, supplying its operations with ever-increasing amounts of renewable electricity,’ says Pascal Vinet, senior vice president & member of the executive committee supervising Europe Industries activities.
