Barloworld expects interim headline earnings per share surge

Barloworld Ltd said on Monday it expects to see interim headline earnings per share more than double.

The Johannesburg-based industrial firm said it expects basic headline earnings per share between 750.6 cents and 760.6 cents for the six months ended March 31.

This would be more than double the 367.1 cents per share reported in the same six month period a year ago.

However, Barloworld said it expects to swing to a basic loss per share between 26.1 cents and 36.1 cents. In the six months ended March 31, 2021, the company reported basic earnings per share of 371.4 cents.

Shares in Barloworld were up 4.8% at R 110.94 in Johannesburg on Monday.
